Use the Smart Scratchpad for temporary working notes

Keep a short working note close to the task you are doing, such as an invoice reference to look up next. The scratchpad is a browser tool, not a shared customer record.

Before you start

Use the browser and workspace where you want to keep the note. Avoid passwords, payment information and confidential customer details in temporary notes.

Follow these steps

  1. Open Productivity Hub.
  2. Find Smart Scratchpad and enable it if needed.
  3. Open the Workbench dock and choose the scratchpad.
  4. Type the working note and return to your ERP task.
  5. Move any information that belongs in the business record into the appropriate record yourself.

Check the result

The note remains in that browser storage where supported. It is not an ERP transaction and does not update a customer or invoice.

If you get stuck

If the note disappears, check whether you changed browser/profile, used private browsing or cleared site data. Do not rely on the scratchpad as your only copy of essential work.

One thing to remember

It does not provide team sharing, an audit history or a guaranteed backup. Use the proper ERP record or your approved document storage for durable information.

Keep going

Still need a hand?

Tell us what you tried, what you expected and what happened. Keep passwords, API keys and private customer information out of your message.

Open a support ticket. Visitors without a workspace can contact us.

Still stuck?

Before contacting support:

  1. Confirm the workspace, record number, date range and status.
  2. Check your role permissions and the source document.
  3. Refresh once and search for the record before repeating a submission.
  4. Check the relevant guide for the next action; do not force a match, posting or approval.

If you still need help, include the page address, exact message, time, expected result and checks already completed. Never send passwords, API keys, payment-card details or provider secrets.
